Bill DePrater is the Client Portfolio Lead for the Energy Supply organization at Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E). In this role, he acts as the business liaison between the Energy Supply and Information Systems Technology Services (ISTS).
Bill is accountable for the oversight of architecture and implementation of client partial and Functional Area (FA) infrastructure projects in Energy Supply. This includes Nuclear, Fossil, Hydro, Renewable Generation, New Construction of Generating Facilities and Energy Procurement. He advocates for the Information Technology (IT) needs of Energy Supply and aligns them with the IT standards and strategy for the utility.
Bill also oversees and collaborates with teams of Project Managers, Business Solution Architects, Program Managers, Domain Architects, Application Services, and other Client Portfolio Leads.
Bill joined PG&E in 1990 as a Facilities Lead in Shared Services. He moved to his current position as Client Portfolio Lead in January of 2006 after serving as Project Management Supervisor, Data Center Supervisor, IT Nuclear Manager, and Manager for Nuclear Re-fueling Outage Maintenance. Throughout his career at PG&E, he has played key roles in a variety of projects focused on the Nuclear, Generation, and IT sectors. These projects include: implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), the Learning Management System for Nuclear Systems, and acting as co-chairman of the Executive Steering Committee for the Radio Refresh project.
